MiksCubed Public Registration POPIA Privacy Notice

1. Responsible party

The responsible party is MIKS CUBED FOUNDATION NPC, registration number 2023/664756/08. The Information Officer is Mikalyn Achary. Privacy enquiries may be sent to enquiries@mikscubedfoundation.org.

2. Information collected by the public form

The simplified public registration form collects only the information needed to create and operate a learner account:

• first name and surname;
• date of birth;
• contact number;
• email address;
• account credentials and technical registration information needed to operate and secure the service; and
• the date/time and version of required acknowledgements.

The public quick-registration form does not collect ID-document images, ID numbers, residential-address details, employment information, income information or parent/guardian details.

3. Why the information is processed

MiksCubed uses the information to create or locate your learner profile, create and administer your learning-platform account, enrol you into the K53 programme, provide support, maintain security, prevent duplicate or abusive registrations, communicate essential programme information and maintain appropriate audit records.

4. Age and users aged 16 or 17

The public programme accepts registrations from persons aged 16 years or older. Date of birth and the 16+ checkbox are used to confirm programme eligibility.

5. Learning platform

The information necessary to create or locate your learning account may be provided to the MiksCubed learning platform. Your email address may be used as your LMS username. MiksCubed stores the resulting LMS user identifier and enrolment status as part of the programme record.

6. Direct marketing

The simplified public registration does not automatically opt you into optional direct marketing or commercial data-sharing activities. Any optional marketing choice should be requested separately and clearly.

7. Security and retention

MiksCubed applies reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the information processed. Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the programme, legal obligations, security, audit requirements or legitimate administration, subject to applicable law.

8. Your rights

Subject to POPIA and applicable law, you may request access to personal information held about you, request correction or deletion where appropriate, object to certain processing, and raise a privacy complaint or enquiry.
